Guided toddler activity

I had a look around the house today when trying to come up with something I can do with the kiddo. I came up with this:

I found several bows that we had, and took some of my kiddo's stacking cups that he plays with in the shower. I took matching colours (more or less, silver bows were paired with the white stacking cup), and asked the kiddo to match the proper colours - put the red bows in the red cup, etc. Being just under a year old, he didn't really get it. He did enjoy putting the bows inside of the cups, and putting the cups inside of one another. Even after I returned to folding laundry, he continued to put the bows inside of the cups, stack the cups, etc. I was pleased that I found another way to occupy him. He was busy for about 15 minutes, which isn't too bad for a one year old! Although he did enjoy this activity, he really was too young for it. I think it would be better to do this with an older child. Nonetheless, I did take the opportunity to 'teach' him colours, by naming the colours of the bows/cups that he picked up.

Thanks for visiting,
