WIAW: Assorted food from my Grandparent's visit (Whole 30)

Food, food, and more food. Last week, I skipped out on my weekly What I Ate posts. Today, I'm back to it with assorted food that I managed to get photos of last week. 

These types have meals are pretty typical of what we've been enjoying in my home lately - quick and yummy! Here's a look into the type of food I normally eat:

A dinner

Chicken 'stewp'. I was not sure whether I should make a stew or a soup, but the result was delicious. My entire family loved it...

...except my husband for whom the ration between sweet potato and not sweet potato ingredients in dishes is very delicate.

It was too sweet for him. However, my in laws loved it so I'm okay with that. My husband is probably the only person in the entire country (Netherlands) that does not like any kind of potato. 

Another dinner

Beets - they're still in the garden and I heart them. I tend to get stuck on a particular food for a few weeks at a time. At the moment it's beets. Before then brussel sprouts.

With a roulade.

Crispy on the outside. Soft and moist on the inside. Basically it was perfection. Plus, it's a fabulous way to get loads of leftovers for husband approved lunches and toddler approved snacks. 

Yes, we snack on stuff like this. I blame paleo. Do you think it's weird? 

Dessert or breakfast? 

Mr. Toddler made chia seed pudding.

I'm sharing this in a recipe post soon - it's coconut chia pudding and it was glorious. Plus my kid made it while I tried to make photos. 

Let's take a moment to appreciate the seriousness of the aforementioned situation. My 2.5 year old made this (so you know it's easy), but I also dislike messes so I had to instruct him, while being a crazy pants and making loads of photos. I even tried to get a pouring shot. On my cellphone.

It was slightly less disastrous then it sounds though, and while my photos certainly didn't turn out beautifully, I am happy to have captured the first dish my son ever 'cooked' on his own in photos. Yay! He was super excited about it, too, and happily dug into our homemade pudding once it was ready!
