Africa themed prereading cards for toddlers and preschoolers

Confession time: I'm a total geek and am having far too much fun putting together Mr. Toddler's Africa themed trays. Second confession: because I am such a geek and am loving reading all about Africa, I am significantly behind schedule with getting these works printed and up on the shelves.

So! I sincerely apologise to you folks that I still haven't showed you those shelves! The reason for that is because the works haven't made it there and I am still quite busy getting all of our printables created on the computer. For now, I am sharing some Africa themed pre-reading cards that you can use with toddlers, preschoolers, or even older children.

FREE African Images Cards - Montessori Inspired {Welcome to Mommyhood} #montessori, #freeprintables
The cards contain a small, green border (the colour of the African continent in the Montessori approach) and a few short sentences about each image. For younger children, the parents/teachers/caregivers, etc can read the cards. Readers can obviously do that themselves.

To use as pre-reading cards, print two copies of the printable pack and ask the children to match the cards to each other. You can explain the images, as well, in order to familiarise the kids with the continent!

This printable pack contains assorted images of Africa - including places, biomes, animals, food, and more! The images are beautiful and will make a great introduction to Africa!
