WIAW: paleo and kid friendly

So food? Yep, it's awesome! I have been seriously working on getting my grove back in the kitchen and I am so happy to say that I have finally had some pretty yummy creations! Today, I'm sharing the meals that we had last Friday. It's a pretty typical day in terms of meals for us - lots of green stuff.

Breakfast

I mentioned yesterday that Mr. Toddler has recently told me about his love of all things fish. In particular, I learned that he absolutely adores smoked salmon. Both the Toddler and I have been consuming massive amounts of smoked salmon the past few weeks.

An example of this love is that we eat it with breakfast:

Mr. Toddler and I both had scrambled eggs with mushrooms, a side of greens, smoked salmon, and (not pictured) sweet potato hash browns.

The Husband was actually home for breakfast as well, but he had bread instead of sweet potatoes and prosciutto instead of salmon. He's Dutch so bread must be consumed with breakfast, I guess. Mr. Toddler and I however were very pleased with our paleo noms.

Lunch

Leftover chicken and sweet potato soup. This recipe coming seriously soon as this is a super tasty, super healthy soup! Full of awesome flavours, it was beyond amazing whilst my entire family was ill recently.

Sadly, Mr. Toddler really isn't into soup so I always have to make sure I only give him veg and meat and try to get most of the liquid out. Strange kid.

Dinner

Paleo chili!

Here's my actual portion. I promise that underneath all of that delicious green stuff, there actually was chili. Really, there was!

Snacks

Did I mention the current obsession with smoked salmon in my home? Don't judge, but Mr. Toddler and I so munched on these wraps All. Day.

Which may or may not explain why we ran out of it so quickly, and why my son had an almost epic meltdown the next day when I announced there was no fish. Luckily, I gave him a plate of the ultimate tuna salad which distracted him until we were able to replenish our supply.
