Flowers math bundle

It's spring, it's spring, it's spring! We've been so lucky with some beautiful spring weather lately! I have been inspired to create some flowers themed learning resources as we transition away from yucky, cold Dutch winter into a rainy, but surprisingly warm spring!

I really love the have fresh flowers in my home, which makes me a little tempted to try to plant some! But we have big plans for a veggie garden and I'm already super slow and struggling with my leg broken and such so I'm not too sure that flowers in the garden will happen this year.

However, I am very excited to start seeing more flowers at local markets, which will make it the perfect time to explore flowers and plants in our learning activities!

Today, I am sharing our newest Flowers themed math bundle!

Spring Activities: flowers math printables

Age: 3
Why:  We have been using materials like these since Y was about two years old. However, this resource also contains addition and writing practice, making it as a whole more appropriate for older children.

Alongside a manipulative for hands on work, cards like these help children to visualise how much a number is. This is very important.

When learning to count, it is imperative to teach young children number quantity rather than only number order and number symbols. Remember, just because your child knows the order of numbers 1, 2, 3, etc, does not mean that they know how much a number represents. This is number quantity.

Number quantity can be taught (or reinforced) alongside a simple printable and manipulative. You can use the manipulative to show your child how much each number symbol represents.

This set of printables also contains addition strips for children to practice adding all combinations of 0-5! You can use these materials to reinforce basic addition.

Also, this set contains cards for practicing writing! You can laminate them for additional durability, allow children to reuse these materials multiple times!
